Domaine du Mas d’en Llinas is a stunning home set in the foothills of the Pyrenees, close to the beautiful village of Castelnou and 45 minutes from the Mediterranean Sea.
Reminiscent of Tuscan hillsides, an avenue of Italian Cypress trees leads one to this beautiful stone Mas, nestled amongst olive, fig and almond trees, basking in sunshine with a huge swimming pool. This countryside retreat, set within the Alberes mountain range of the Western Pyrenees has stunning views of the wild countryside right down to the Mediterranean Sea with Mount Canigou, standing tall in the background.
Poolside Body Conditioning Fitness and Sunset Stretch classes will be on offer daily at this extended weekend of wellbeing. A mix of core, cardio & strength work (and hopefully a few smiles too!) will kick you into gear with the morning fitness session. Take time to relax or follow up with a game of tennis or an afternoon hike , discovering this beautiful countryside. Work on your core, mobility & flexibility in the stretch class whilst watching the sun set behind Mount Canigou and bask in the golden colour of the evening light, dappling the valley and mountains. Then relax for evening drinks and canapés on the sofas under the pergola overlooking the pool and the breath-taking surroundings.
Castelnou is one of the ‘Plus Beaux Villages de France’ and a great option for walks from Mas d’en Llinas. Castelnou’s medieval streets attract visitors from far afield, drawn by its enchanting scenery. With a number of restaurants and little cafés and home to many artisans with their studios dotted around this beautiful village, this is a great destination to include in one of our walks.
Collioure, a medieval port set in a beautiful Mediterranean bay is a stunning destination for a day trip where we will have lunch overlooking the bay with its magnificent 13th Century Castle and 17th Century Bell tower, after a morning of sea kayaking and snorkelling or a coastal hike on the Emerald Coast.
Alternatively, some may choose to head to one of the Cathar Castles in the region with a walk up to the Chateau de Peyrepertuse, which boasts fantastic views from its peak of the valleys of the Corbières mountain range, where the many vineyards produce some of the best wines of the Languedoc. This will be followed by lunch at the Chateau de Jau Grill with 5 course lunch, each course accompanied by different wines from this famous vineyard.
